Prospect Watch: El Paso jumped out to an early lead, but the Express scored the final four runs of the game to defeat the Chihuahuas in an afternoon tilt in Round Rock. El Paso has now dropped seven of eight. … Jase Bowen led off the game with his team-leading fourth home run of the season. The former Pirate has shown plenty of pop since joining the organization. In 14 games, he is slugging .603. Despite the power, there are still some concerns with his approach at the plate. He’s punched out in 29% of his plate appearances, and his 6.4% walk-rate leaves a bit to be desired. Overall, Bowen has a .909 OPS this season. … Clay Dungan connected on his first homer of the year as part of a three-hit afternoon. Dungan has two three-hit games this season, including in two of his last three starts. In the other eight games the former Royals prospect has played, he has gone hitless in 20 at-bats. Overall, the utility-man is hitting .214/.258/.321. … El Paso went with a bullpen game on Tuesday, and Evan Fitterer drew the starting assignment. He pitched a pair of innings, allowing a run on three hits, walking two, and striking out two. He sat in the mid-90s with his four-seam fastball, topping out at 97 mph. The 25-year-old from Orange County, California, signed with the Padres as a free agent after spending six seasons in the Marlins organization. He was drafted by Miami in the fifth round back in 2019. Fitterer has looked sharp for El Paso overall, allowing just one run in eight innings pitched. He’s walked three and punched out 10.

Midland RockHounds 7, Missions 2 (7 innings)

Key Statistics: C Ethan Salas 2-for-4, R; 1B Romeo Sanabria 1-for-2, R, BB, HR (1), 2 RBI; LF Albert Fabian 2-for-3; LHP Jagger Haynes 5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, 5 K; RHP Michael Flynn (L, 0-1) 0.0 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 2 BB

Prospect Watch: Tuesday’s game was pushed back to a 9 pm start time, thanks to a rainstorm. San Antonio jumped out to an early lead, but the RockHounds pushed across five runs in the sixth inning before the rain returned to cut the series-opener short. The loss dropped the Missions to 3-7 overall. … The Missions got their runs in the first inning, thanks to first baseman Romeo Sanabria‘s first homer of the season. He also drew a walk later in the game. The 23-year-old had an outstanding spring, impressing in big league camp when given the chance. The hot spring hasn’t carried over just yet; through 10 games with the Missions, the Miami native is hitting .205/.295/.333. … Ethan Salas had a pair of singles and scored on Sanabria’s homer. The 19-year-old catcher has hit safely in each of the last three games, going 5-for-11 during the stretch. Salas has just one extra-base hit this season, but he’s looked much more comfortable at the plate in the early part of the season. Tuesday’s performance raised his batting average to .259. He has showed impressive defensive work behind the plate, which continues to keep his prospect status elevated. … Jagger Haynes did his part for the Missions on Tuesday, pitching five strong innings. He allowed a pair of runs on three hits, walking one and striking out five. Haynes did a nice job of staying in the zone; 53 of his 80 pitches were thrown for strikes. Tuesday’s start was an encouraging development after he walked three batters and lasted just 1.2 innings in his first start of the season. … After Haynes departed, Michael Flynn had a brutal outing. He faced six batters, allowed four hits, walked two, and surrendered five runs without recording an out. The 29-year-old signed with the Padres as a minor league free agent just before camp started. He spent last year in the Rays’ organization, with the bulk of the work coming in Triple-A Durham. He appeared in 19 games, pitching to a 4.41 ERA.

Roster Move: First baseman/designated hitter Leandro Cedeño was activated by the Missions prior to Tuesday’s game. The 27-year-old spent the last two years in Japan, where he split time between the highest level of NPB and the minors. The XXL-framed slugger hit 32 homers in 2022 while playing in the Diamondbacks’ organization.

Lake County Captains 13, TinCaps 4

Key Statistics: LF Alex McCoy 2-for-3, R, BB; RF Kavares Tears 1-for-3, HR (1), 2 RBI, BB; CF Kasen Wells 3-for-4, RBI; RHP Maikel Miralles (L, 0-1) 4 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K; RHP Clark Candiotti, IP, H, K

Prospect Watch: The TinCaps offense looked better on Tuesday, but it didn’t matter as TinCaps pitchers walked 11 and Lake County slugged a pair of homers in an easy win in Eastlake, Ohio. Fort Wayne has the Midwest League’s highest team ERA and lowest team OPS. … Alex McCoy extended his hitting streak to six games with another multi-hit effort. The 24-year-old had a pair of singles and drew a walk in his four plate appearances. While most of the TinCaps’ lineup has struggled out of the gate, the former undrafted free agent has swung the bat well. Tuesday’s multi-hit effort raised his OPS to .995. … Kavares Tears connected on his first homer of the year, driving in a pair of runs. Tears has walked in over 16% of his plate appearances and has five extra-base hits in his first nine games. His 26% strikeout rate is still a bit too high, but it’s an improvement on the 29% mark he posted in Lake Elsinore last season. Tears got off to a strong start last year before cratering in the summer, so the club will continue to monitor whether his swing adjustments help him make more contact inside the strike zone. … Center fielder Kasen Wells had three hits as he moved down to the nine-hole. The speedy outfielder doesn’t possess any power, but he’s struck out just four times in nine games while walking nine times. Tuesday’s performance raised his on-base percentage to .486. … After pitching well during opening week, Maikel Miralles struggled Tuesday, allowing hard contact throughout his start. Miralles completed four innings, allowing five runs on five hits, including a pair of homers. He walked a pair and struck out three batters. Through two starts, the 21-year-old has a 5.63 ERA.

Roster Move: Hard-throwing righty Tucker Musgrove was sent up to Fort Wayne from extended spring training. The 24-year-old battled injuries last season with the Storm, but he impressed in the Arizona Fall League.

Stockton Ports 5, Storm 4 (11 innings)

Key Statistics: PH-C Truitt Madonna 1-for-1, 2 RBI, SB (4); 3B Bradley Frye 1-for-3, R, BB; CF Conner Westenburg 2-for-3, R, BB, 3 SB (7), BB; RHP Winyer Chourio 3 IP, H, 4 BB, 5 K; RHP Will Koger 1.2 IP, H, BB, 4 K; RHP Ethan Long 2 IP, H, R, 2 K; RHP Daichi Moriki (L, 0-1) 0.1 IP, R, BB

Prospect Watch: The Storm played in an 11 am field trip game in Stockton and ended up losing in extra innings. … Conner Westenburg hit .611 last week, and his hot hitting continued Tuesday. The former McNesse State outfielder had a pair of singles, drew a walk, and stole three bases in the Storm loss. Tuesday’s performance raised Westenburg’s batting average to .517, which leads the Cal League. He’s also leading the league in on-base percentage (.576) and is tied for the league lead with stolen bases and has yet to be thrown out. … Winyer Chourio struggled with command in his third start of the year, but was able to get through three innings. He allowed just one run on one hit, but he walked four, throwing 66 pitches before departing. He punched out five, lowering his season ERA to 1.12 through his first eight innings in the process. … Ethan Long pitched two innings for the first time as a professional. He pitched a scoreless ninth before allowing the ghost runner to come across in the tenth. Long hit a pair of batters and struck out two. So far, Long’s transition to reliever has gone over pretty well. Through five innings, he’s allowed just one earned run.

Roster Moves: Catcher Ty Harvey was placed on the seven-day injured list, retroactive to April 13, 2026. Taking his place on the roster is catcher Yoiber Ocopio, who saw late-season action for the Storm last year.
